Views and visible controls

Views and panels
As shown on the left there are three buttons on the toolbar that give you direct access to the 3 views (marked with a red box) and two buttons that give you access of the visibility of the player panel and playlist/tag edit panel. The same functionality is also available from the main menubar and a context menu on the left panel.

Album view

The album view shows all albums in your library. Its main function is to play your album / music collection, but it allows you also to search, filter edit, add album art, or organize your songs. At all times only the songs from the selected album are shown! You can search, filter and sort the visible album list with controls hidden under the album tree header (see searching and filtering help topic).
The sides are separated by a splitter that you can drag left/right to enlarge the album listing. The song list is separated from the playlist in a similar way, allowing to resize the song/playlist.
By setting the visibility of the player and or the playlist you can enlarge the space available for the songs.

Database view

The database view is focused on searching for specific songs in your library. It allows you to show any kind of song selection. There are multiple quick filters available that allow you to show all songs by genre, album, artist or you can create your own specific filter to quickly identify songs. Again you can play, edit, add album art or organize your albums / songs.
Please note that this view only allows you to edit maximum 100 songs at one time!

Folder view

The folder view is focused on browsing for songs on your harddisc. It does not have a specific search or filter function at all. It is purely a folder browser. It does however allow you to play, edit, add album art or organize your songs.
If you edit songs in this view then Soundbase will try to locate the song in your library and update the information accordingly, but if the song is not found (it might be located in another library!!) it will only update the information stored in the file.
