Album view: search and filter albums

Screenshot unskinned

By default the search and filter controls of the album view are hidden. You can open the search and filter panel by clicking on the column headers. The controls will become visible.

The left side of the panel allows 2 modes, filter or search. In filter mode you can set a filter on the fist letter of the first sorted column, i.e. if the list is sorted by albums, and you click the letter "b", you will only see the albums starting with the letter "b". In search mode it will go to the first album with letter "b', similar to pressing the "b" key on your keyboard.

The right side gives access to dropdown menus which provide direct value filtering, and allows to sort your albums. Holding down the shift-key allows for multiple columns do be sorted.

By default the quick filter box is shown in the database view. The quick filters allow you to quickly see all songs, all songs from the same artist, all songs from the same genre, all songs with the same album name (dependant of the artist), and all songs that belong to one album.

Album and database view: free word search

Screenshot unskinned

The searchbar in the main toolbar is most likely one of the easiest ways of searching your database. But you have to be aware of the difference in behavior per view. In the album view it searches in album information, In the database view it searches in the songs database, and in the folder view it searches in the files. There is one exception, if you are in the database view, and you hold down the <ctrl> key while pressing enter it will overwrite the default behavior and search in the album information in stead.
